A Place at the Table – 2013

Held this past weekend in Old Town Rock Hill, this conference was hosted by Friday Arts Project, a group of talented local artists.  The goal of the weekend was to explore and celebrate the “magic” that happens when good food and good company converge around the table.  The line up of top notch presenters included Pulitzer Prize nominated author Molly O’Neill from Longhouse Food Revival, Chef Peter Reinhart from Johnson and Wales University, and Dr. Tom Hanchett, Staff Historian at the Levine Museum of the New South.  The conference concluded with a sit down dinner for 110 guests, featuring beautiful mismatched vintage place settings from The Gracious Table.  Here is what one guest had to say:

“The final piece to the weekend, the Longhouse Food Revival brought us to the Arts Council of York County. Beautiful long tables set  with mix-and- match vintage plates  invited guests in for the final feast, a celebration of  the bond forged between strangers, now friends, after a short weekend in Rock Hill.”
